Getting connected to Wi-Fi is one of the basic requirements of any laptop user in today’s time and what if your own laptop suffers from the problem of “laptop won’t connect to WiFi”. Guys I also witnessed my laptop facing this technical snag of the laptop not getting connected to WiFi, and to resolve this I tried a few troubleshooting methods.

And guess what? I was really able to get this problem of “laptop won’t connect to WiFi” resolved. So, I share herewith all such troubleshooting methods briefly enunciated in this quick user guide that may be pretty useful for you as well.

Ensuring that the WiFi is Switched on Your Laptop

The preliminary step is to activate your WiFi from the Internet Access panel displayed on the bottom-right pane of the taskbar. To get this done just check whether the name of your WiFi panel is appearing on the Internet access panel and that the connection of your laptop with the WiFi is in “Connection” mode.

If the option of “Connect” is getting displayed then it means your laptop has not been in pairing mode with your WiFi router. So, all you need is to simply click on the “Connect” button to cause your laptop to get connected with your WiFi router.

By Restarting Your WiFi Router and Modem

Another way to deal with the ”laptop won’t connect to WiFi” problem is to restart your WiFi router. You can get this done by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 1 - Plug out all the cables from your WiFi router and modem.

Step 2 - Just wait for a few minutes.

Step 3 - Now first connect the wires to the modem and wait for two minutes.

Step 4 - Now plug the cables into the WiFi router and turn it on.

By executing run command for your Windows Troubleshooter

Running Windows Troubleshooter could be an alternative way for fixing the problem of the laptop not getting connected with the WiFi. Just adhere to the following steps to fix this issue.

Step 1 - Click on the start button followed by opening the Settings option.

Step 2 - Now just expand the Network Adapter and navigate to find the specific drivers.

By Renewing Your System’s IP Address

Despite following the above different troubleshooting methods if you are not able to access the internet using your WiFi, then try changing your IP address. Though this is a complex procedure and hence requires due care before being exercised.

Step 1 - Jointly press the Windows+R key.

Step 2 - In the run dialogue box that gets opened, type cmd and press Enter.
