Ethernet doesn’t have a Valid IP Configuration in Windows 10 -

Have you ever come across a network issue that says Ethernet does not have a valid IP configuration? If yes, then there is some problem with your network interface card. The NIC is connected to your modem or router through an e ethernet cable.

The problem occurs when it is not able to obtain a valid IP address. A valid IP address is required to communicate with the router and operate on the internet. Whenever NIC or router becomes faulty because of the wrong IP address, then an error shows up.

Mentioned below are the solutions that you can try out to fix this problem. Please make sure that you follow all the steps in the right order.

Methods to fix the problem of ethernet doesn’t have a valid IP configuration in Windows 10

Method 1: Restart your System

Ethernet does not have a valid IP configuration issue can occur because of the fast startup feature. To resolve this issue, you need to follow the steps for disabling a fast startup.

Step 1: First of all, press the Windows key and S key simultaneously, and then you will see the control panel. Now, select the control panel from the results appearing before you.

Step 2: Click on the "Power Options" from the control panel.

Step 3: Go to the left pane and select the option of "Choose what power button does".

Step 4: Click on the option of Change settings that are currently unavailable.

Step 5: Uncheck the box that is given right next to the fast startup that is given close to the end of the window to disable fast startup.

Step 6: Now, click on save changes.

Step 7: After that, reboot your PC.

Method 2: Check the Settings of your Network Adapter

The router works in such a way that it designates the IP address on its own. It is a default setting. However, you have a choice to assign a particular IP address.

In such a case, you need to set the IP address to automatic and check the internet properties and make changes once the connection is established.

Below are the steps that you need to follow to check the settings.

Step 1: Press the Windows key and R key simultaneously.

Step 2: After that, enter ncpa.ncl in the network field and then select Ok.

Step 3: Go to the network connections window and then right click on the Network Adaptor. Now, select properties.

Step 4: Now, select internet protocol version 4 from the ethernet properties window. Now, select properties.

Step 5: After that, the properties window of the internet protocol version 4 will open up. There, you will have to enable these options.
