Fix the Out of Memory Error Code in Edge:

Microsoft Edge shares the engine with your Google Chrome browser, which forces it to use more memory and resources. Whenever you open a web page on your browser, you may see an error message that says Out of Memory.

The page may not open because of this and may cause serious inconvenience to the user. Most of the problems are related to the memory and Chrome settings. It may go to the extent of showing the machine because of the processes such as network service.

There are various methods that can help you resolve this problem. In most of the solutions, you get to troubleshoot the Edge settings.

What Leads to Out of Memory Error Code in Edge?

Many problems related to the browser and memory can cause this problem. Some of these problems are:

  • Opening various tabs in one window.
  • Interference from the browser cache and cookies.
  • Using an outdated version of Edge.
  • Insufficient memory on your computer.
  • Having many Edge add-ons and extensions.

How to Fix the Out of Memory Error Code in Edge?

1) Try a Different Browser

Microsoft Edge is a great browser but if you wish to get error messages, then try a browser that focuses solely on performance. It has RAM-limiting features and an inbuilt CPU. Opera GX is one of the most amazing alternatives.

Additionally, you can turn it on by opening the panel in the sidebar. It has been created to handle gaming and streaming without interruption. Opera GX also has some standard browsing features.

You can use the messaging sidebar, customize the experience with a dedicated extension, and bookmark pages. This will allow you to communicate with your peers quickly. This browser is also focused on privacy and has an inbuilt anti-tracking feature. Also, it has a free VPN with unlimited bandwidth. The VPN will help you bypass geo-blocks and hide your IP address.

2) Clear the Cookies and Cache on Microsoft Edge

Step 1: Launch your Edge browser on your computer.

Step 2: After that, select the Settings option.

Step 3: Select the Privacy, search, and services tab to get more options.

Step 4: Choose the option Balanced from the three options available to increase your privacy.

Step 5: Now, go to the tab of Clear browsing data nd then select Choose what to clear button.

Step 6: A pop-up will show up on your screen where you have to check cookies and other site data and select Time range. After that, choose the Cached images and files option.

Step 7: Once you make your selection, you need to select the Clear now button.

When you use a browser like Microsoft Edge, it saves details from the website you go to such as cookies and cache. It will help you with the website's formatting once you clear it. Moreover, it will resolve loading issues and keep your browser safe.

Clearing cookies and cache helps you get rid of Edge errors. After that, restart your internet browser and then try to access the pages again. Now, check if the issue is resolved.

3) Remove Add-ons and Extensions

Below are the steps that you need to follow to remove your add-ons and extensions.

Step 1: Launch your Edge browser and then select the three-dotted lines.

Step 2: Select the Extensions option.

Step 3: Search for the list of installed extensions.

Step 4: Click on the button of Extensions to disable it. You may even have to select the Remove button to uninstall the Extensions.

Extensions are great as they help in automating the process but sometimes use of extensions can cause serious issues. A lot of them impact the performance of your internet browser by using the memory allocated.

4) Reduce Memory Usage of Your Browser

Below are the steps that you need to follow in order to reduce the memory usage of your browser.

Step 1: Open your Microsoft Edge browser.

Step 2: Press Shift+Esc on your keyboard to launch the Task Manager of your browser.

Step 3: Search for the browser tab, which uses a lot of memory, select it and then choose the button of End process.

A few things that affect memory usage include number of opened browser tabs, windows size, tab's content, and screen resolution.

5) Repair Microsoft Edge Browser

Step 1: Press the Windows key and I key simultaneously to launch the Settings app.

Step 2: Select the Apps tab.

Step 3: After that, go to the Apps and Features tab.

Step 4: Go to the Edge browser.

Step 5: Select the three-dotted one and then choose Modify.

Step 6: Choose the Repair button when you get a pop-up.
