How to Troubleshoot Limited or No Connectivity Error?

You may see a problem because of various technical glitches or due to some configuration issues on your computer. You may also face this problem because of the problems between the computer and the rest of the network.

Below are the steps that you need to apply in order to resolve the problem.

Step 1: First of all, you should try some common fixes that can help you get rid of the connectivity problems. In case your issue does not get resolved by applying simple troubleshooting techniques, then go ahead with step 2.

Step 2: Another thing that you can try is to restart your computer. There is a chance that the network issue is related to some computer software. A simple restart can fix this problem.

Step 3: If restarting the computer does not help you fix your problem, then you must try restarting your router or modem.

Step 4: Check whether the ethernet cable you are connecting to your network is working or not. Firstly, you need to disconnect the cable and then you need to reconnect it again.

After that, you need to replace the network cable temporarily. Then, you need to use a different cable to check whether the issue is appearing because of the cable or not.

Step 5: Open an elevated command prompt and then run the command there. This command will help your reset TCP/IP stack to the original form. This step will help you in resolving network-related problems.

netsh int ip reset C:\logreset.txt

There are some netsh commands that you can try in case resetting your network adapter is not helping you in resolving the network issue you are encountering. Also, you are required to enter a command in your elevated command prompt.

Then, you need t enter the second command and then you need to enter the third command. You are required to press the enter key after entering every command.

netsh int tcp set heuristics disablednetsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disablednetsh int tcp set global rss=enabled

Then, this command will help you check whether the settings were disabled or not.

Step 6: If you experience this error while using Wi-Fi, then check whether your network adapter is on sleep mode to conserve the power.

Step 7: Search for the local IP addressing case you are using DHCP. In case you are using static IP address, then you must change the settings of your adapter, In case the local IP address of your computer starts with 169.254, then that means it is invalid and not acquiring the right IP address from the router.

In such a case, you are required to run the commands ipconfig/release and then ipconfig /renew in the command prompt.

Step 8: Try to update the driver for your network card. A corrupt driver or outdated card can cause a serious problem.

Step 9: If Windows asks you to try to fix the connection, then you must run the network repair utility or network troubleshooter.

Step 10: In case you are connected to a Wi-Fi, then that means your router is using wireless security and that means your WPA and other security key have not been set. For this, you need to log in to your router and then check the wireless security configuration of your PC's network and update if required.

Step 11: In case there still isn't any connection, then disconnect your router and connect your modem to the PC directly. In case the configuration is working and you are not able to see the error, then that means your router is malfunctioning.

Step 12: If none of the above-tried solutions are working, then you can acquire additional support to contact the router manufacturer. In case the error is still there and the network seems to be down, then you must get in touch with your internet service provider.
