Update AMD Graphics Drivers in Windows 10

When we talk about computer graphics, one name that comes on top of our heads is AMD. However, Nividia is far ahead in terms of sales but when you think of great performance and money value, then AMD is the right choice to make. The process to update graphics drivers is fairly simple. Nevertheless, the routes chosen to do the same can be better or worse. Sometimes when you choose to do a default GPU update, then it can lead to a misbehaving graphics card. Here, you will get to know the right ways to update AMD graphics drivers in Windows 10.

Way 1: Update AMD Drivers Using the Basic Method

You may already know how to do this but here we are going to provide you with a standard format to update your AMD drivers.

All you have to do is to open the Radeon Settings, go to the left corner at the end, and click on updates. After that, select Check for Updates. You are going to see two options there. The one is the New Optional and the other one is the New Recommended option. If you see the optional update option, then it means that the version is currently being tested and you can't rely on it 100%.

The option of the New Recommended update is more reliable for you as this option offers stability and reliability. Choose this option if you are not sure of the optional update and then carry out the instructions.

Way 2: Use DDU to Update AMD Drivers

In case you find that the AMD driver update did not go well or the driver is crashing or it is not working the way it is supposed to work, then the best thing that you can do is to install the updated drivers. To update the drivers, you need to use a tool called Display Driver Uninstaller.

To start with the process, you first need to download the most recent version of DDU and then move it to a location of your choice. After that, you need to boot Windows 10 in Safe Mode. The easiest way to do that is to press and hold the shift key and pressing the restart button simultaneously.

Then, you need to move to troubleshoot, then Advanced options and then go to the See more recovery options. After that, go to Start-up settings and then Restart. Choose the option to Enable Safe Mode and ensure that the internet is off.

When you are in safe mode, open DDU. Choose Select device type from the drop-down menu and then choose GPU. Also, you need to check that it says AMD in the drop-down menu.

Go to the DDU options and after that go to AMD Specific Options. Also, ensure that all the boxes are checked. Now, select Clean and restart and let DDU do the rest of the work.

Windows will start working the moment your computer reboots. Go to the driver's page of AMD on your internet browser and choose the drivers which are corresponding to your graphics card. You can also download the auto-detect tool from the end of the page in case you aren't sure.

Select the option of submitting after you are done entering the GHPU information. Go to the next page and choose the right driver that you wish to download.

So, these were the easy ways to update AMD drivers but there are more complicated procedures that we did not touch in this article. By using these methods of updating AMD, you won't face any problem after installing the update. The above-mentioned 2 methods are the most useful 2 methods to update the AMD driver especially when you are installing a new graphics card.
