Use Google Messages for Web:

Did you know you can use any web browser on your computer to send SMS messages using the Google Messages app? Even when your Android phone isn't with you, it's a convenient way to text contacts in your list.

Everything you need to know about Google Messages for Web, along with instructions on using the computer app, is provided here.

Why Should You Use Google Messages for the Web?

The texting app you use on your Android phone has a web counterpart called Google Messages for Web. Chatting on your computer with friends and coworkers is now possible without downloading any additional apps because of the web version.

This tool is the ideal answer if you're uncomfortable sharing your social media profiles with certain people or want to avoid using social networks. The web app is easy for users who have yet to gain experience with messaging apps.

This app can send text messages from your computer to other users. Anyone using an Android, iPhone, Android tablet, iPad, Windows, or Mac device can access Google Messages for Web, a web client for your Android Messages app from your phone. Using a web browser on your computer, you can view all your messages from the Google Messages mobile app, although with some restrictions.

How Do You Use Google Messages on the Web?

Google Messages for Web connects the Google Messages mobile app to your website. You can use your smartphone to send SMS messages from your desktop or laptop and view your phone's chats and messages.

The same carrier fees apply when sending these messages via Google Messages for Web because you're still using the mobile app.

Suppose you and the recipient have enabled Rich Communication Services (RCS), a messaging service meant to replace SMS and MMS. In that case, you can avoid paying the fees by sending and receiving messages only through an internet connection.

In addition to texting, you can communicate with other users via Google Messages for the Web by sending and receiving stickers, emojis, GIFs, and attached media files.

How to Use Automated Google Messages

Messages come pre-installed on most Android phones, including the most recent Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy models. Should Messages by Google not be visible in your list of installed Android apps, you must download and install it on your phone from the Play Store.

Step 1: After the app downloads, a prompt asks you to set it as your default messaging app.

Step 2: Once you've confirmed it, you can configure the Messages web client on your PC. To do that, take the actions listed below.

Step 3: Open a web browser on your computer. After that, visit the messages.google.com website.

Step 4: Choose Messages for Web from the upper right corner.

Step 5: On your Android phone, open Messages.

Step 6: Click the three dots in the top-right corner of the Message app, then choose Device pairing.

Step 7: Select the blue QR code scanner button in the centre of the screen. The app will prompt you to enable Messages to take images and record videos.

Step 8: Using your browser, point your camera at the QR code that Google Messages for Web displays. Doing this lets you pair the web app and your mobile messaging app. The Messages app on your smartphone can be linked to multiple computers, but you can only use it on some at a time.

Step 9: That completes the pairing of your devices, allowing you to use Google Messages for the Web on your PC. Turn on the Remember this computer feature in your browser if you want the same two devices to pair up automatically the next time.

You don't have to worry about missing any messages if you use other tabs in your browser. The Messages icon in your browser tab will display a red notification with the number of unread messages next to it when you have unread texts in the app.

You can add contrast and make Google Messages for the Web appear darker if you prefer to use your apps in dark mode. Launch the application through your web browser, then click the three vertical dots to access More options > Settings > Select theme > Dark.
