Fix Microsoft Edge STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION error:

Recently, a lot of Microsoft Edge users are launching a complaint regarding the Status_Access_Violation error. A lot of browsers have been affected by such errors. Microsoft Edge is also a part of that list.

A lot of users shared this concern with the Microsoft community forum but they couldn't avail any benefit from the same. Worry not as here we are available with different solutions that can help you resolve this issue.

1) Turn off Renderer code integrity

Lately, Google announced Renderer code integrity, which was adopted by Chrome browser users as well. It checks all the codes that load on the webpage and allows the signed ones only to move ahead. Nevertheless, in a few cases, it may end up raising a false positive and may not render codes to a safe website.

To fix this problem, below are the steps that you need to follow to disable renderer code integrity on your browser.

Step 1: Open the desktop shortcut link on your Edge browser.

Step 2: Go to the context menu. After that, right-click on it and then select Properties.

Step 3: Navigate to the Shortcut tab and then add the string stated below.

--disable-features=RendererCodeIntegrity

Step 4: Now, your target will appear like

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --disable-features=RendererCodeIntegrity

Step 5: Select Apply and then finally click on OK.

Step 6: Open your browser using the shortcut.

After that, try loading the page once again. This will help you resolve your Microsoft Edge STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION error.

2) Rename the executable file on your browser

Below are the steps that you need to carry out to locate and rename an executable MS Edge file.

Step 1: Open File Explorer on your Windows Computer and then go to the location stated below.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application

Step 2: Choose the msedge.exe file.

Step 3: Right-click on the name of the file and then rename it from the context menu.

Step 4: You can change the name to something else such as edge.exe and then save the changes made.

Now, open your Edge browser using this EXE file and then check if it resolves your Microsoft Edge STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION error.

3) Try using Edge Beta

Other than using the stable version that you are presently using, Microsoft also has a beta build. You can use this for testing experimental features. Moreover, it does not get bugged with problems that the stable build faces.

A lot of users mentioned that their problem got resolved by switching to the beta build of Microsoft Edge. To try it, you must download and install the Beta channel of Microsoft Edge on your Windows computer. Open the Edge browser and then sign in to your account and then check if your issue gets fixed.

4) Disable Javascript extensions

If you are using a third-party extension that deals with scripts, then you must disable them immediately. The extension in the domain enables you to add and modify web pages. There is a chance that this is the root cause of your problem.

Below are the steps that you need to follow to enable javascript extensions on Edge.

Step 1: Open the Edge browser on your PC.

Step 2: Go to menu options and then select More.

Step 3: Choose Extensions from the list.

Step 4: Turn off the toggle next to the extension, which deals with scripts.

Step 5: Now, restart the browser.
