Hi Guys, Please let me know how do I install Roku on tv? I am facing this issue last 1 week I don't know how to install it. Help me.
If you wish to know how you can set up Roku on my TV, then these are some of the steps that you must follow.
Generally, there are two types of Roku, in order to be able to use these two, your TV needs to have at least one HDMI port.
Roku TV is like a set-top box that comes along with many other cables.
Roku stick-Its appearance is similar to that of a flash drive. It comes along with one power cable.
Every High Definition TV has at least one HDMI port, which looks similar to a trapezoid. This port is present at the back of the television. The process differs based on the type of Roku.
Roku Player: Insert one end of the HDMI cable at the back of your Roku player box and place the other side of the HDMI wire in the back of your television set.
Roku stick: Connect one end of the HDMI connector to the Roku stick and the other end to the side or back of your television set.
Generally, HDTVs have more than one HDMI port.
In case your television set does not have an HDMI port, then there is no point in using a Roku stick with your TV. You can purchase an HDMI component adapter, in case your television set has a red, white, or yellow port.
Television sets that have more than one HDMI port have numbers assigned to them right next to them.
The number can be written as HDMI 1, HDMI 2, and so on. These ports may be labeled as individual numbers such as 1, 2, 3, etc.
Both the Roku stick and Roku player are required to be connected to the wall outlet or power source.
Connect one end of the power wire to the player box’s back and connect the other end to the power source.
Now to set up Roku on my tv, take a power cable and connect one end to the back of your streaming stick and insert the other end in the wall outlet. In case the Roku stick you are using has a USB power wire and your television set has a USB port, then rather you can insert one end of the USB wire into the Roku stick and connect the other end to the TV.
Insert one end to the side of the stick and insert the other end to the wall outlet. In case your Roku stick has a USB power wire and your television set has a USB port, then you can insert the USB wire into your television set and Roku stick.
Turn on your TV and then press the source, video, or input button on your remote and select the slot where you are going to insert the Roku stick. After that, the Roku setup screen is going to open up. From this point, you can begin setting up your Roku.
Use the arrow buttons of your Roku remote. Scroll through all the languages that are available and then choose your preferred language. When you choose one, select ok using your remote.
These are some of the steps that you need to follow by going to the network page:
Scan the network by selecting the option of scan again to view all the networks.
Scroll through all the available wireless networks and locate yours.
Select and then highlight your network and then you need to press ok.
Use your on-screen keyboard for entering the password for your network.
Click on Ok whenever it prompts.
In case you are connecting the Roku player, then you can connect an ethernet wire to the player rather than using a wireless network.
When your Roku gets connected to the internet, then you will be asked to download the latest software. This procedure is going to take around a half-hour or it can take some more time as well depending on the speed of the internet. So, you are required to be very patient in this process.
In case you are using a Roku player, then you will easily be able to find the best settings for your HDTV and make them applicable.
You will have to choose the set display type and enable the setup to run in case you are using a Roku streaming stick.
After that to set up Roku on my tv, you will have to select auto to detect display type and then click on ok and then go to automatic whenever asked.
You can also make changes in the display settings after setting up your Roku. All you have to do is to open the settings, select display type, and choose the preferred television settings.
If you wish to increase or decrease volume using your Roku remote or you want to make any other changes, then check remote settings whenever it prompts and follow the instructions on the screen.
You can select the option of skip to move ahead for activating Roku.
After that, a five-character activation code is going to appear on the screen. After that, you can go ahead with activating your Roku.
Enter the 5 character code that you saw on the screen for activating your Roku.
Launch the internet browser on your computer system and enter the my.roku.com link. You can also follow this procedure in your smartphone’s internet browser. The process will quickly get completed on the smartphone as it does not take as much time as on the computer.
Type the 5-character code in the text box that is given in the middle of the page.
Click on the button to submit that is given after the text box.
Fill up the text fields appearing on the screen. You have to fill up all the blank boxes and enter the details like preferred password, e-mail address, and other important information.
You may have to create a PIN for your account as well. This is what you will need to enter for logging into your Roku TV. This will be protecting the password.
If you have a Roku account, then choose the login option and then enter the e-mail ID and password for logging in instead.
Whenever it asks, enter all the information related to the payment such as PayPal, or credit card.
You are not going to get charged at the time of entering the method of payment. But this is the method that you are going to use for making payments to view some content on your Roku.
If you are using a Roku account that already has a method of payment, then skip this step.
Once you are done adding a method of payment, you will have to confirm the e-mail address of your account. Once you are done with completing the process of activation, then you must use Roku on your TV.
