Can Roku Premiere Work with TV?

Roku Premiere works with any television but should necessarily have an HDMI® connection. However, if you want to experience and get the benefits of a 4K resolution, you should have a 4K compatible TV. A 4K compatible television is the key requisite for streaming online movies and TV shows in 4K picture quality.

Recommendation Tips: Use a high-speed HDMI cable if your TV is supporting 720p and 1080p of picture resolution. Or use a Premium high-speed HDMI Cable if you have a TV supporting 4K.

Guide to Setup Roku Premiere

Setting up Roku Premiere is no hard task. You have to simply follow these given guidelines in order to set up your Roku Premiere with your TV. 

1. Choose a Specific Language for Roku Premiere Setup

• This is the first screen you will see when your Roku Premiere is powered ON. This is the first step of setup where you have to choose a language in order to proceed with the rest of the procedure.
• Select a known language so that you get to see every text and dialog within the Roku application in the selected language only. 
• Scroll the language list up and down in order to find your desired language. Finally, press the OK button on your Roku remote to choose a language.

Note: The language selection is only required when you are setting up your Roku device. Else, it is the responsibility of the channel publisher to translate and deliver their channel into your registered language. Some channels still might not support the chosen language.

2. Connect Your Roku Premiere with a Network

• The second step is to connect your Roku Premiere device to an internet connection. You can connect it to a wireless network from the list of available networks and enter the password for the selected network.
• This step is the same step as you connect your computer or smartphone to the wireless internet. If you do not find the desired network in the list, simply Scan to see all the available networks. 
• To see your password as you type, you can choose the Show password option. This option eases you in entering the right password into the field box.
• Always remember that the password is a piece of case-sensitive information. To enter a capital letter or a special symbol, use the shift button on the on-screen keyboard along with the main character or symbol key.
• As you finished up entering the right password into the field, you can click on the Connect button. This way your Roku Premiere connect to wifi. 

3. Allow Your Roku Premiere to Download the Latest Software Update

Once your Roku Premiere is connected to the available internet connection, it will automatically start downloading the latest version of Roku OS software and then will reboot further to save the updates.

4. Set the Display Type for Roku Premiere

• Select the display type to Auto Detect option and your Roku Premiere will determine the best display resolution as per the supported HDMI connection. There is no need to manually configure the Roku settings.  Later, if you wish to change the display type, simply go to Settings > Display type. 
• In case if the support for 4K is not detected and you are using a 4K compatible TV, then ensure that all the HDMI cables are firmly connected and all connection lines support HDCP 2.2. 

5. Setup a New Roku Account and Activate Your Roku Premiere

The most important step before activating your Roku Premiere is to create and link your device to a Roku account. A Roku account helps the owner to track all the Roku devices they own and thereby allows them to add free and paid HD channels from the Roku Channel Store.

As soon as you log in to your account, instructions for activating your Roku Premiere will be displayed on your TV, including an activation code like "XCV5TG”. Further, you have to visit my.roku.com/link using your computer or smartphone, enter the code in the provided interface, and follow the instructions to activate your Roku Premiere.

Note: There is no charge for activating the Roku device. Just be careful while entering the URL roku.com/link into the address bar of your web browser. To avoid fraudulent websites, type the address correctly.
