You must have a good wireless network connection in order to access your Roku device and then stream video on it. Generally, one connects the Roku player to the home network with the help of a wireless connection of your router. The broadband services offered by the internet service provider obtains signals from the router for getting connected to the internet. In this article, you are going to read about how to solve Roku app Wi-Fi connection issues.
For instance, you can receive a notification from Hulu stating, “We are having problems connecting to our servers. Netflix will show up an error NW 2-5 etc. Prior to taking any of these steps, you first need to check whether your Roku device has been activated properly and a Roku activation code has been generated or not. The majority of the Roku app Wi-Fi connection problems can be resolved by following 2 simple steps.
These Issues Include Loading Something or There are Certain Glitches You Found at the Time of Streaming.
First of all, to solve Roku app Wi-Fi connection issues, you need to go and check your wireless router. If your router is in proper working condition and is properly plugged in, then you can move forward to the next step.
Go to settings and then select a network.
There to solve Roku App Wi-Fi Connection issues, a page will open up containing information about your wireless network.
The status will show whether the device is connected or not. In case you observe any connectivity issues, then it will display ‘not connected’.
Please take a look at the signal strength and see if it shows up excellent.
Move back to the page of settings
Scroll down and take a look at all the available options and then select the ‘system’.
After that, to solve Roku App Wi-Fi Connection issues, the system page will open up and then click on restart.
When you will restart your Roku, then all the glitches and bugs will get removed from it.
Log into the Roku by entering the Roku link and then sign in.
If you have tried following the above two steps and you have also tried some other options such as changing the DNS server, restart the wireless router, resetting the Roku and you have also tried disabling the 802.11 n and using 802.11g. In case none of these methods work out for you, then you can try out repairing the wireless encryption for obtaining stronger encryption with better speed. If your encryption is WPA2-PSK with AES, then the encryption is stronger and then it supports 802.11n that has high speed.
Having that said, there is a chance that you may face connection issues while you are using your Roku device. There is a chance that you are able to get connected to the wireless network and have received a green signal in the Roku connection tests and the signal strength is great as well but you are not able to avail of any streaming services as you fail to connect to the Roku application.
Simultaneously, if you are making use of a Roku streaming stick, then you can easily link it to the wireless network but there is a chance that the Roku application is not able to recognize the internet connection. Try using TKIP/AES for supporting these subscriptions. Rather it is better to enable TKIP and disable AES. This encryption is not strong enough and also limits the speed of Wi-Fi that is up to 54 Mbps but this will enable the devices to get connected to the streaming device.
Every wireless router is required to be configured in a different manner and you also need to get your router’s IP address together with the link of Roku.com and login credentials. If you are still don’t know how to solve Roku App Wi-Fi Connection issues, then you can try out dialing the Roku customer service number.
