The most important component of a business is regarded to be its data, so QuickBooks keeps all of this vital information on the local storage of your computer. Data loss is a possibility due to hardware malfunction and malicious infiltration.
To avoid these issues, it is crucial to periodically backup your data. QuickBooks offers a simple method for quickly backing up the company file, and you can also set automatic backups to back up your company file data at regular intervals. However, problems can happen once data backups cause QuickBooks Error 80029c4a.
The storage device which stores the backup file is unavailable, which is the main reason for the issue. For instance, the computer is no longer linked to the external storage device where QuickBooks backups are generated.
Step 1: Check and update the QuickBooks Company File as a first step.
Step 2: Open QuickBooks and choose Verify Data from the Utilities drop-down menu under the File menu.
Step 3: Restore data by selecting it from the Utility drop-down menu once more if the Verify Data tool discovered problems with the company file.
Step 4: When the tool has finished fixing the company file's damage, try backing up the company file once more to see if the "QuickBooks not backing up" error has been fixed.
Step 1: Start QuickBooks Desktop, then select Preferences from the menu.
Step 2: Access the Backup Options area by navigating.
Step 3: Verify the backup site you've chosen in QuickBooks' Local Backup Only section.
Step 4: Verify that the path QuickBooks uses to generate the backup file is valid.
Step 5: If you discovered that the backup path was inaccurate and inaccessible, tap Browse and choose the appropriate folder location to store the business file backup.
From the Create Backup window, you could also adjust the backup path while creating a backup of the company file.
Step 1: Close the QuickBooks Desktop app, then launch Windows File Manager.
Step 2: Download the network data file by going to C: Users Public Public Documents Intuit QuickBooks.
Step 3: The.ND extension will be added to the file, which will have the same name as your corporate file.
Step 4: Change the file by doing a right-click.
Step 5: Save the file by appending it.OLD FILE to the end of the filename.
Step 6: Try once more to make a backup of the company file.
Step 7: Following the next troubleshooting step if the problem "QuickBooks has been unable to back up your company file" still occurs.
If you are still having trouble backing up your QuickBooks company file, there may be irreparable damage, and you will need to restore the most recent backup you made before the damage occurred.
