Is there anyone who knows about how to play MOV video files in Windows 10? I am facing some issues while doing this. Help me.
You need a specific codec to run certain video files on your computer. Taking an example of MOV video files they have MPEG 4 format. Suppose you want to run videos of such format on your Windows 10 then you can't because it does not have the correct player.
You can run the movie videos on your Windows 10 by using a Windows media player, installing and using the quick time player, and using a VLC media player. Other than the three mentioned media players, you cannot run or play MOV file format videos on your Windows 10. Only Macs, iPhones, and iPads download the video file in the .mov extension.
In case you have a MOV file on your windows computer, then you can apply different methods to play that file. However, you won't be able to play the file simply by double-clicking on it. For this, you need to download and install the players.
Another thing that you need to do is to use the in-built Windows media player. This is a default Windows player. Moreover, it supports MOV files now. Nevertheless, you must ensure that your Windows media player is presently at the 12.0 version or a higher version. Only the higher versions mentioned below can support the MOV files.
Step 1: First of all, check the present version and then launch your Windows media player.
Step 2: Go to the top bar and then right-click on it. Also, you need to press the Alt key.
Step 3: After that, you must check the present version of Windows. In case it shows the versions below 12.0. then you should install the latest version before playing the video file.
Step 4: Select the video file and then right-click on it to play the video. After that, select the option of Open With.
Step 5: Select the option of Windows media player and then play your mov video.
This player is a default player for MOV files. This player is actually used in the Mac operating system. You can easily download and install this player on your Windows PC.
Below are the steps that you need to follow to install QuickTime.
Step 1: First of all, install QuickTime on your Windows 10.
Step 2: Use QuickTime to play your MOV video and then go to the MOV file.
Step 3: Right-click on the name of the file and then select the option of Open With.
Step 4: Now, the QuickTime play will launch your video.
This one player is the one player, which is compatible with most of the files on Windows 10.
Step 1: In case you do not have the VLC media player, then you must download and install the player on your PC.
Step 2: Launch VLC media player by going to the top bar and selecting media.
Step 3: Choose open file and then select MOV file.
In case the video players suggested above don't wor for you, then the last resort that you are left with is to convert MOV files to other formats using a video converter app.
