Is there anyone who knows how to create new folders and labels in Gmail. I am facing some issues while creating folder in Gmail. Help me.
If you wish to keep your emails organized, then you must create folders. Gmail makes use of labels instead of folders. However, they are the same thing effectively. Fortunately, a user is allowed to apply more than one label to an email in Gmail.
In order to label your email as a folder, you are required to use the Move to option to thread out your inbox or to move your email and then put it in a label. You can easily access it in the left panel of your inbox.
All emails that are work-related for a specific client can be placed in one folder and other secondary emails should go in a separate folder. If you want, you can also create subfolders.
Below are the steps that you need to follow in order to create a folder in Gmail.
Step 1: First of all, open the Gmail site on your browser and then log in to your account if you are not logged in already.
Step 2: Select the Settings icon given at the upper-right corner of your screen and then choose the option of See all settings.
Step 3: Go to the Labels tab and then navigate to the Labels section on order to create a new label.
Step 4: Firstly, you are required to enter the name of the label you want and then select Create. If you want the new label to be sub-labeled under an existing label, then select the box of Nest Label Under and then select the folder in which you want the new label to go.
Below are the steps that you need to follow in order to create a folder in your email mobile app.
Step 1: Launch the Gmail app on your Android phone, iPad, and iPhone. Log in to your phone in case you have not logged in already.
Step 2: Select the three horizontal lines given at the top-left corner of your screen.
Step 3: After that, go to the section of Labels and then select Create Now.
Step 4: After that, a pop-up menu will open up before you. There, you need to enter the name of your label which should be a maximum of 225 characters and then select Done.
If you want, you can create a label from the email by selecting the three-dot icon at the upper-right corner of your screen. Select Move and then select the Plus symbol.
Below are the steps that you need to follow to apply labels in Gmail. So, let's begin with the process.
Step 1: Go to your Gmail inbox on your desktop and then select the boxes next to the emails you wish to label. After that, select the Label icon given at the right side of your upper toolbar.
If you are using Gmail mobile app, then go to the circular profile icon of the sender on every side you want to label. After that, select the three dots icon and then click on the label in the pop-up.
Step 1: Select the option of Show search options in the Gmail inbox of your desktop. You can find it on the right side of your search bar.
Step 2: Set the parameters for your filter. You can filter from Date, Size, Doesn't have, Has the words, Subject, To, and From.
Step 3: Once you set the criteria, then Create a Filter.
Step 4: Go to the next page and then select the option of Apply the label and then select the label from the drop-down menu.
Step 5: After that, select the option of Create Filter.
