Fix Overheating on a Roku Ultra

In case your Roku streaming player is kept in an enclosed area or cabinet or it is kept together with another electronic device, then there is a high possibility that your Roku Ultra may overheat.

If you want to fix the overheating issue on your Roku Ultra, then you have come to the right place as here you will get to know all the necessary steps that you need to perform in order to fix overheating on Roku Ultra.

What Indicates Overheating on the Roku device?

There are two indicators that can let you know that your Roku player is heating up.

  • The Roku player has a white light in front of its unit and if this white light turns into red light, then that means your Roku device is getting too hot.
  • When your Roku device is all heated up, then you may see a warning message appearing before you on the screen that says your device is overheating. This message will show up in the top right corner of your screen.

Steps to Fix Overheating on Roku Ultra

Mentioned below are the steps that you need to carry out in order to fix the overheating issue on Roku Ultra.

Step 1: Carefully disconnect the power wire from the Roku player and let it cool down.

Step 2: Start searching for a cooler location for your Roku player and don't keep your unit in a place like:

  • Inside closed places like cabinets
  • Over or along with other electronic devices such as video receivers, routers, and cable boxes.
  • In sunlight

Step 3: Now, allow your Roku player to cool down for at least 10 minutes.

Step 4: When it cools down, reconnect the power wire to the Roku player and then turn it on.

Step 5: In case the warning message is still showing up on the screen, then the Roku player is going to display a solid red light. In such a case, immediately disconnect the power wire.

Step 6: Repeat the same process once again. If the problem remains, then you must stop using your Roku player.

So, this is how you fix overheating on a Roku Ultra.
