If you wish for safe browsing, then a private browser is exactly what you need. A private mode stops websites from collecting your data, wipes away cookies, and no recording history. You can open a new tab by clicking on the plus icon but the private mode won't open up.

The method to open a private window depends on the system and the browser you are using. Fortunately, we are available with easy-to-follow instructions that you can apply to open a private window. 

How can I Use a Private Browser?

You can open a private window by using shortcuts. Nevertheless, you can't do this on iOS and Android devices. The manual way of accessing a private browser is available for both computers as well as mobile devices.

We have mentioned the methods and shortcuts for 5 different browsers. 

1) On Google Chrome

You can open a private browser or incognito window in Google Chrome. All you have to do is to press the shortcut keys Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows. If you are using Mac, then you need to press Cmd+Shift+N on Mac devices. You can also follow the steps to open the incognito window manually. 

On Desktop 

Step 1: First of all, launch Google Chrome on your device. 

Step 2: Select the three dots given at the upper-right corner of your screen. 

Step 3: Click on the option of New Incognito Window. 

On Mobile 

Step 1: Launch Google Chrome on your mobile device. 

Step 2: Select the three-dot icon given at the right corner of your screen. 

Step 3: Tap on the incognito window option. 

2) On Brave 

There are two different browsing options on the Brave browser. You can press the Ctrl+Shift+N to launch the private window. Also, you can use the shortcut keys to Alt+Shift+N to launch the private window with the functions of Tor browsers connected. 

On Desktop 

Step 1: Launch the Brave browser on your device. 

Step 2: Select the three lines given at the upper-right corner of the window. 

Step 3: Select the New private window with Tor or Select the new private window as you like.

On Mobile 

Step 1: Launch the Brave browser on your mobile phone. 

Step 2: Select the Tab icon at the end of your screen. 

Step 3: Tap on Private and then tap on Plus. 

3) On Safari 

Go to Chrome and then launch a private window by pressing cmd+Shift+N. If you want, you can also follow the manual method of opening a private window. 

On Mac

Step 1: First of all, launch Safar on your Mac. 

Step 2: Select File by going to the taskbar given at the top. 

Step 3: Choose a New Private Window. 

On iOS

Step 1: Launch your Safari browser on your OS smartphone. 

Step 2: Now, press the tab icon at the lower-right corner of your screen. 

Step 3: Select Private. 

Alternatively, you can carry out the steps mentioned below. 

Step 1: Launch Safari browser. 

Step 2: Select the tab icon at the lower-right corner of your screen. 

Step 3: Go to the Tabs button at the end.

Step 4: Select Private. 

Step 5: Select the Plus icon given at the lower-left corner.

4) On Edge

The Edge browser of Microsoft has a private window option, which gives you access to the private browser. You can open a private window by pressing Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows and if you are using Mac, then you must press Command + Shift + N. 

On Desktop

Step 1: Launch the Microsoft Edge browser on your computer. 

Step 2: Select the three dots given at the upper-right corner of your window. 

Step 3: Go to the New InPrivate window. 

On Mobile 

Step 1: Launch the Edge app on your smartphone. 

Step 2: Go to the three dots given at the end of the screen. 

Step 3: Select the New InPrivate tab.

Step 1: Launch the Edge browser on your mobile device. 

Step 2: Select the tab icon at the end of the screen. 

Step 3: Go to the InPrivate tab by going to the upper-left corner of the page. 

Step 4: Select the Plus icon given at the end. 

5) On Opera

The method to open a private window on Opera is the same as on any other web browser. You just have to press Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows and if you are using Mac, then you need to use the shortcut keys CM+Shift+N to open the private mode of your browser. 

On Desktop

Step 1: First of all, open Opera on your PC. 

Step 2: After that, click on the Opera icon given at the upper-left corner of your window. 

Step 3: Select the New private window. 

On Mobile

Step 1: Launch the Opera browser on your iOS smartphone. 

Step 2: Tap on the three lines given at the lower-right corner. 

Step 3: Select private mode.
